Artisan Senior Living and Memory Care is seeking a courteous, detail-oriented Maintenance Specialist to join our team. Ideal candidate will have previous maintenance experience. The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining efficient and effective operations of the physical property, equipment, and grounds. The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining efficient and effective operations of the physical property, equipment, and grounds for (2) of our communities in Racine and Lake Geneva.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and repair problems in such areas as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, and waste management systems.
  • Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating and equipment/supply standards and in a safe and timely manner.
  • Perform turn-key work as required to ensure vacant suites are rent-ready in a timely manner.
  • Maintain customer service standards. Respond to resident/staff requests and work with the Community Director to minimize/resolve problems and complaints. Follow-through to ensure issue is resolved.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
  • Promote safe work practices among on-site staff.
  • May drive company vehicle from community to social and other various destinations
  • Supervise the work of outside contractors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Conducting general inspections, identifying needs and daily walk-throughs of building, grounds, and vacant units.
  • Conduct fire drills, water temperature testing and other regulatory requirements as assigned.
  • Maintain positive communication with all inspectors and vendors.
  • Engaging with families, prospective residents on tours, and current residents in a cheerful manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of general maintenance experience including; painting, plumbing, drywall repair, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, carpet cleaning, etc.
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic skills such as measurement and basic calculations and analysis for estimating, determining averages, percentages and totals.
  • Able to occasionally operate general office equipment such as computer, telephone, copier, fax, and postage machine.
  • Able to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, equipment not limited to pressure washer, hand tools, blowers, paint equipment, ice removal equipment, ladders, landscaping equipment, sanders and safety equipment.
  • Able to handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
  • Must possess basic hand tools necessary for performing general maintenance duties.
  • Flexibility to an on-call program and ability to work occasional weekends.
  • Must enjoy working with seniors, including those with Alzheimer's Disease.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
